About the Level 1 Training

Thank you for your interest in our First Response Training Program! We pray that this training will help you grow in your leadership skills, so that your volunteer experience can be positive and advance God's Kingdom for His glory!

The required age for this training is 17. If you take the training at 17, you must wait to deploy with the international response team until you are 18. You will still be able to respond with a stateside volunteer team, providing you and your parents have signed our parental consent form.

All lodging, food and transportation is provided during the training and is included in the initial sign up fee.

Please note: There are 12-15 hours of online training you will be expected to complete prior to the training. You will have access to a mentor for any questions you may have while completing the training.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an automated email with a list of things to bring to the training, as well as links for the online training.

Our First Response training is designed to equip you to respond with our Initial Response team; however, it does not guarantee you to be on that team. The Initial Response team will be made up of 5 people who have taken the training. In the event that you are not chosen you may simply need to wait to be deployed with one of the next teams or we might recommend more in-depth training. We also realize that you might be more interested in the training itself and not deployment and that's ok as well.

We take your safety very seriously, please be aware that this training may test your physical limits. You are responsible for your own personal safety and the safety of your team members. Full disclosure of any physical limitations that may affect your ability to participate in this training is critical for your own safety. PCCR will not be held liable for any injuries that occur during and related to this training. We don't require a certain level of agility or fitness to participate in this training.

Note for international deployment:
International fields typically have much higher risk and stress involved and there is a low chance that we cannot deploy you immediately. The field may not be a fit for you, and vice-versa. If we have concerns that it would not be in your best interest to deploy, we'll help you get to the point where you can deploy and have a positive experience. Taking the training is not a guarantee to deploy with us, we may ask you to take further training or simply deploy with us on stateside disaster responses for a few times, so you can gain experience and we can get to know you better. The goal is to deploy you and to have you have a successful and positive volunteer experience.

Please make sure that you can follow through with the training because the payment is non-refundable. Remember, if you make the payment and can't make this training you can always use the payment for a future training.

Please contact Thea at 717-833-4727 if you have any questions.
